SACRED HINDU SYMBOLS

Om:

Om is the most chanted sound symbol amongst Hindus. All our prayers and chants begin with Om. Om is the universal name of the Lord. It is the past, present, future and whatever else is there beyond. This sound or vibration is believed to be the sound with which existence came into being and it continues to resound everywhere. By chanting Om, we are able to tune into the Divine.

Swastika:

Swastika is a sacred symbol amongst Hindus, Buddhists and Jains. It is derived from Su-Asti ,a Sanskrit word  meaning auspiciousness or"that which wishes and brings good luck ,harmony and well being". It is amongst the most auspicious chants from the Vedas. Seen in most Hindu and Buddhist temples, swastika is also an insignia on the chest of Lord Buddha. It is sacred for well over 20 percent of the world population. It has been around for thousands of years.

Namaste:

Hindus greet each other with Namaste. This oneness with meeting of the palms means..."May our minds meet". The spiritual meaning is even deeper:

recognizing the divinity in each other and salute that with folded hands.
